Curtis Media Group Internship Information
The Curtis Media Group offers an Internship Program designed for the benefit of students currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in mass communications or a related field.

Internships are available throughout the year, in a variety of sites, in the following departments: News/Public Affairs, Programming/Production, and Marketing/Sales/Promotions.

Internship Requirements are as follows:

  • Must be a full-time student currently enrolled in a college, university, or graduate school.
  • Must be a junior, senior or graduate student
  • Must be able to intern a complete semester or term (minimum three months). Internship days and hours will be scheduled so as not to conflict with student's class schedule.
  • Must work a minimum of 10 hours per week and not more than 20 hours a week.
  • Must reside in the market area while the internship is in progress, OR have a reasonable commute to the site and reliable transportation.
  • Must complete the CMG Internship application, which should be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a college professor and/or counselor.
  • Must have a GPA of at least 2.8 in your Major and 2.5 overall.
  • Must be available for a personal interview.
  • Must be willing to work for credit rather than compensation (although some paid internships are available in news).

Curtis Media Group interns are expected to actively contribute to the projects assigned. Apply only if you are willing to work hard and are responsible and quick to learn. Specific internship assignments will vary depending on the needs of the station, as well as the site and timing of the internship.
